Why can I never find things when I need them....

This is our turkey baster, it is a very fine turkey baster complete with its own cleaning brush.
This turkey baster went missing on 25th December and reappeared yesterday in the sure and certain knowledge that it would be safe from use for almost twelve months .
I have taken this picture to prove to everyone, when I can't find it again next Christmas,  that it really does exist and is not, as was rumoured this year, a figment of my imagination.
It's in the top drawer under the hob btw in case I need to be reminded!
