Transformation

A nineteenth century marble statue, transformed into modern art by having its head carved a bit more than originally intended. Imagine if Michelangelo had got carried away with David and hadn't known when to lay down his chisel.

(By the way - without wanting to add to the great blipolaroidfoto debate - how annoying is that thumbnail? In olden times, back in the grey ages, his head might have been carved beyond recognition, but at least it wouldn't have been chopped in half.)
