Aoraki / Mt Cook

We set off from Twizel this morning with a heavy cover of cloud.  As my wife, kids and mother in law had never been into Mt Cook village before I was disappointed that we wouldn't have any views of New Zealand's highest peak.  We set off on a walk to the Hooker Glacier terminal lake, still with heavy cloud.  But it cleared perfectly and we got this stunning view of Aoraki / Mt Cook, the glacier terminal lake and, to cap it off, an iceberg.  Then the others drove back and I rode the 73 km to Twizel.  That was a good day.
