Turning to business

Since we arrived in Malawi I always had a view that Malawi should contribute to its own development. Pumps and wells are what we are there for and are free to everyone. 
However we started farming to show what could be grown and how it could  be done, using demonstration and training of the local population.
About seven years ago we began growing and producing  improved varieties of citrus seedlings, mainly to improve diet and help with the scourge of the aids pandemic.
Now this operation is coming to fruition in terms of a businesslike approach. SO we will sell some of these seedlings to the market, as well as giving some away mainly to women farmers, free of charge.
We hope to sell about 10,000 seedlings including Mango, Tangerine, Orange, white and red Guava, Papaya, Passionfruit, Apples, Neem and others. 
This is a large production operation at this stage, and we are working closely with Ministry and others to expand our range of varieties.

The picture shows one greenhouse with about 3000 grafted Mango, ready for sowing out. 

Today we were collecting new, ripe mange seeds to begin the process again
