Ben Ledi

First walk of the year with ewg and the traditional trek up Ben ledi. Didn't sleep very well last night, so tired I nearly ducked out, but needed to get the fitness kick started anyway. Walk started off lovely and, as usual the weather seemed to change time zones part way up - felt like we were on an artic expedition a near the top ; probably 45 mph winds, no visibility and hail stones to boot ! plenty of snow underfoot though, so got to try out my yax trax on my new walking boots - both served me well and new boots passed the test. Didn't manage to get evidence of the ' arctic' as my camera ran out of juice and it was way too cold to dig my phone out my bag!!
Well earned defrosting by the fire, hot chocolate in hand in the lade Inn to finish before heading home. great start to the walking year.
