Got to get that fish down!

This Merganser caught a fish that was bigger than usual. He raced across the water with it in his beak as another duck was in hot pursuit; eventually he raised his head and swallowed it whole. I could literally see his neck enlarge as the fat fish entered his neck; he did this dance to elongate his neck so the fish would continue down to his stomach (I assume). He finally settled down and rested. Wow...amazing sight.
THEN the bald eagle flew down and took a dive for a coot...he missed and flew to the top of a nearby fir tree. Lots of excitement at Bethany Lake this afternoon. 
We heard the the Mad Greek Restaurant on the corner is closing in two days, so we went in for our final order of Greek Fries. Yummy with their special sauce!
