We went for a walk along the sea today and I went looking for shells among the kelp. I found some shells, but also found lots of entangled fishing line in different colours. There are containers along the way where one is supposed to deposit the line. I feel good that we have hopefully now saved some birds from a strangling death. The sign behind our find is a tribute to the ship Birkenhead that stranded near here in 1852. Apparently this was the first time the phrase ´Women and children first´ was used.
