Suis-je Charlie?

Printing press c. 1860.   I popped into the new National Museum while in town today to seek a blip.

"The pen is mightier than the sword" said English author Edward Bulwer-Lytton in his 1839 play about Cardinal Richelieu.    But that has seemed hard to believe this week.

The "Je suis Charlie" campaign has, understandably, gone viral.   But I did appreciate one article I read today that said, wonderful though the words of solidarity are, the truth is that very few of us would be as brave as the journalists of Charlie Hebdo.   Few of us would publish something knowing that it would put our lives in serious danger.

Good to see here that the developments today are being resolved positively.
