Back in time

As a break from the blisters, I took my Mum on the train to Samedan, the local town, where we went to a small museum in a medieval tower called La Tuor.
I felt totally inspired by a lady called Elizabeth Main, a mountaineer, photographer and socialite, of the early 1900s whose photographs of local people, mountains and winter sports were impressive in every way.
Other photographs told stories of the mountain railways, local traditions, grand hotels and sports such as the first bobsleigh, skiing behind horses and surfing on ice! Oh what fun!
The sunset lasted the whole train ride home!
