Jungle

I am reminded of a Thelwell cartoon where he depicts a couple arriving at their new home, which, similarly, is in need of some attention.  The caption is:

"I'll put the kettle on, you tidy up the garden."

Apart from an exploratory circuit of some of the wilder corners of the garden, and the usual gathering of timber, today has been mostly an inside job - burrowing into the archaeological layers of in-tray to locate papers relating to the inland revenue.
