The Rock

Every year during the 2nd or 3rd week in January, we have a Thanksgiving Picnic. The invite reads as follows:

Thanksgiving picnic tonight at 6.30 at The Rock. Bring chairs, left overs (if you have any), family (if they are still here) and your drink of choice.

The idea is to give thanks that the season is over, that we have seen our families (and that they have arrived safely back home), and that the coffers have been filled to last us through the quiet times.

Speaking of quiet, the village is very, very quiet.
Rather sad, actually.
