Better to light a candle

....than to curse the darkness.

It's impossible to not be affected by the horrific events of this week. Or to forget that the sheer evil, the twisted, despicable barbarity that drove these outrages persists, and will seek to bring terror again and again. 

But we can be glad that at least for now, the violence appears to be over. And we can celebrate the tremendous, unquenchable spirit shown by the people of France, and by those who, around the world,  stand with them in solidarity.
