Good friends

Today I walked with some good friends in Jesmond Dene a quiet park, in a valley stretching nearly 3 km and leading almost to the centre of Newcastle. Red squirrel and kingfisher are reputed to live here although I have to confess I've never seen them. The park was designed by William Armsrtong a great 19th century industrialist in the north of England. He also built the bridge which still spans the valley and is now the venue for a craft market on Sunday mornings.
