Apples & Oranges
Taking the Idiom Challenge more literally today and actually photographing what is 'says on the tin' - to add a metaphor to the idiom! The 'apples and oranges' idiom is used to compare things that are so different that they cannot be compared..... 'sheep and goats' is one in the same vein.
I am hoping this image will be good enough to add to my panel for an LRPS assessment. It meant a lot of playing around with patterns and light - having light both underneath and on top, and although there were many false attempts along the way, I am pleased with this overall image.
I had an exciting morning booking a trip to France for August. Each year my Berkhamsted-based choir goes on a trip abroad where we do several concerts but also have a great time. One of our members has been busy over the past months setting up venues for our performances and there are enough singers prepared to commit to the week - so 'all systems are go!' We all organise our own transport and accommodation but all turn up at the same time for our first rehearsal and performance; it works well.
I travel with a group of friends and we share rooms and car hire. This year we will fly to Montpellier and then eight of us will stay in a glorious looking villa with acres of grounds and a pool. So today we booked flights, villa, car hire, airport parking and the weather! Well, not actually booked the weather, but the south of France in August is a fair bet for heat and sun!
The tours are quite hard work (at times) and we will have done many rehearsals before we leave the UK, but it is also lots of fun. I am the 'resident' tour photographer!!
Meanwhile, outside now it is cold, wet and windy!
