Storm damage
All night the wind howled through the glen.
After the 100mph winds battering the north of Scotland and 60mph in our area we woke fearing the worst.
Apart from leaves, twigs and a big branch from a neighbours overhanging Douglas fir, which clobbered our Himalayan honeysuckle shrub, the only other noticeable damage was that it had stripped the cotoneaster of berries .
These provide rich pickings for the birds but they tend not to like them and will only eat when there is no other source of food.
Tonight we await Storm 2. Will we be so lucky?
After the terrible news coming out of Paris our weather seems irrelevant.
