Riverbed Poppies

I've had a good day!!

I good catch up with OldTimer who has just returned from a lovely holiday down south.  Following on a meet with ex Blipper Chrissybelle for a coffee and a chat, then a little shopping.

Its been tennis watching all afternoon - Venus Williams V Caroline Wozniacki - the final of the ASB Ladies Tennis Tournament.  Venus came out the winner but a thoroughly great game, going to three sets. Two really lovely ladies and ambassadors for their sport.

Snuck down to the remains of the Pareora River after the tennis to find some poppies - they're all but done, but still look rather pretty I thought.

The river is barely running in places, a shocking situation, but looking around the farmland close by the irrigators are cranking.......Poor fish :(
