~the Heron~

Beautiful day in the northwest!! Spent part of today walking and enjoying the sunshine.  Then had a pedicure and picked up the girls. It was a fun day and I finished it off by taking my husband Mike to the movies. We watched ~Unbroken~
It's a true story  showing In late May 1943, the B-24 carrying the 26-year-old  Olympian Louis Zamperini went down over the Pacific.  For almost seven weeks — Zamperini and his pilot managed to survive on a  raft. They traveled 2,000 miles, only to land in a series of Japanese prison camps, where, for the next two years, Zamperini underwent those years of torture.
After watching this movie I now understand why my Dad didn't want to talk about the war.
