King of the Fishers (Day 7)
It was our last day out on the canal today, we'd be mooring at the marina tonight. As we approached Tixal Wide, The Boy took over the steering and whilst we stalked Kingfishers, engine barely on tick over to minimize vibrations. I got a lovely shot of a Heron, but there's no way I could use it when there was a blurred, grainy Kingfisher instead.
I got several shots of the Kingfisher as we stalked it along the river. None I was massively keen on but happy for the chance to blip one anyhow.
Getting the boat into the marina, pumped out, refueled and into our mooring bay was made extremely difficult by a strong wind making steering almost impossible.
We had an early start the next morning to get a train up to Edinburgh for another event.
