The distrinctive tree

I ws a glutton for punishment today and did the longest orienteering course on offer, which  was advertised at 6.5km. I did 8.1k by the time I had got lost a bit and skirted round inpenetrable vegetation. The last checkpoint was a "distinctive tree" towering over some thick smaller scrubby trees making it easy to locate although not easy to access.
