Sutton Plant old cooling stacks

These are the cooling stacks for the old coal boilers.  They have been landmarks for a long long time now.  In the next few months they will begin to cut them down as they are no longer used since the plant changed over to natural gas.  I don't think many of the locals understand that these icons are about to disappear.

Feeling spoiled as we had lunch at Elijah's again today and so I had fish n chips.  Yummm.  Although it is still cold the sun is shinning and someone braved it out on the water.  These little guys were inside the deck plastic cover and adding to our entertainment.

On the way home I took a picture of my favourite section of the Cape Fear River.
