A false hydrangea

Hiked about 6 miles today with the temperature barely above freezing...but it was well worth it for the sites that I saw in the winter forest.   This was one of my favorite shots.  Our ladies hiking club had a naturalist walking with us and I learned much about plants that I would call weeds.  Now I need to go on a hike in the spring to compare beauty!
