'A Musical Afternoon'
With my mate Bill.
I took my dobro around to his house to see if we could sort out the buzz that was happening inside the cone. Took the old strings off, took apart all of the pieces that were screwed onto the body and couldn't find anything that was obvious that might have been causing the annoying sound. So I tightened all of the pieces as much as possible, put it back together and re-strung it. What a difference, she purrs beautifully now, better that it's ever sounded since I bought it about 15 years ago. I think I'm getting the playing bug again as Bill and I had a few jams and it sounded great.
Here is Bill, still recovering from the burns on his hands and arms, but is now able to pick up his guitars and play as well as ever. I reckon he'll be as good as new in a few weeks time.
After playing around with guitars etc. for a few hours, we sat down and watched the first disc of Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival from 2013. What a brilliant concert that would have been to attend. So many great artists on the one bill.
MsMun and Bella went to a birthday party this morning for one of Bella's friends Akaysha at the Diamond Valley miniature Railway and then met up with us at Bill & Meg's house afterwards.
A really fun and inspiring afternoon for me.
Back to work tomorrow for 2015, wonder how much of a struggle that's going to be?
