Cricket season has got underway!

First match of the season for Liphook Under 13s away at Hambledon

Jolly bad form not to offer visiting supporters/parents a cup of tea at the interval. All the home parents stood together sipping copious quantities of beer. None of them could be bothered to keep score or keep the scoreboard up to date. And no one offered us a cup of tea. I reckon it's because most of them go to private schools. Lots of money, but no class .....

Very close game though. Liphook racked up 86 for 4 in our 20 overs, thanks in part to an unbeaten knock of 28 from son number two. After early domination with the bat by Hambeldon, Liphook dragged themselves back into the game with some superb bowling, but then one loose over let Hambledon get back into the game. They won by one wicket with one ball to spare. If only ....

We have to compare this with the last match against them when we lost by about 100 runs! So maybe ours is the moral victory ;-)

Right - off to get a cup of tea now. I'm gasping!
