Castle Howard Lake

Detoured on my way home from roller skiing to try and find something to photograph.

I have never seen the lake so full of birds. The wind had picked up again and the birds appeared to be taking refuge on the lake. The reeds give a clue as to the prevailing wind. In the distance you can just make out the main house. Bet it was not like this when they filmed Brideshead Revisited!
