Orchid

After the drama of the microwave catching fire three weeks ago, today the vacuum cleaner broke. And when I say broke, I mean separated into several irreparable pieces. So the central part of the day was occupied with choosing and sourcing a new one; and then by the time we'd eaten I realised it was nearly dark and no photos had been taken.

I put the 50mm f/1.8 on the camera, dashed outside and took half a dozen quick shots; uploaded them, looked at them for a while, deleted them, sighed heavily and went and fetched the tripod and some lamps.... Still, at least after half an hour of faffing about with equipment I feel that I might possibly have learnt something!
