Celebrating A Big Birthday

We stayed the weekend in a soulless Travel Lodge adjacent to the A1, which was most certainly not a room with a view!  We pitched up at Grandma’s café for breakfast though, and BB presented Granddad with his birthday presents which went down a treat.

Eighteen of us then went for a lovely family lunch to celebrate with the octogenarian.  Lovely food and good company - it was good to catch up.  After lunch we headed back where we split into two camps.  The younger ones took up residence in the kitchen and the older ones took up residence in the front room.  The alcohol was mostly in the kitchen, but they did top us up occasionally!  Granddad fell asleep and BB and two of his teen cousins, escaped to play on the computer.  Later on TT, who was driving,  and had his sensible head on, went out for some pizzas to help soak up the alcohol.

We all had a lovely day and BB really enjoyed catching up with his big cousins, some of whom he hadn’t seen for a very long time.  Here he is with his cousins P1 and P2.  P1 is studying physics at University and P2 is sitting his A-levels this year, but they were both very good with BB.

 There were early nights all round!
