Helpful hen
After breakfast we went for a bike ride. It was bright an glorious, though the sun didn't last to the end of the ride. After the ride we loaded the washing machine with a batch of laundry and went to dig up two apple trees from a neighbour. She is donating them to the community orchard as they are rootstock variety and we plan to try grafting something more interesting to them.
She has a hen and a very fancy cockerel who supervised the apple tree extraction. The hen was pretty keen to eat all the worms we found the cockerel just strutted around and kept his distance - I pass no comment. Today's blip is a shot of the hen, she was quite tame and I was able to get a half decent picture of her.
The apple trees eventually cam out of the ground and are currently "heeled" into our garden as it was too dark to put transplant them fully today - they'll go into the community orchard on a dry day this week.
I then had more ironing to do, from yesterday's laundry and we watched a few hours of TV, now it's time for bed and the whole work thing starts again in the morning...
