As was being unloaded yesterday, an enormous ball-valve. It was removed from the pumped storage hydro-electric power station at Foyers, by Loch Ness. Brought here, to land by Inverness Marina, to be dismantled and scrapped. The pair of the station's valves were recently replaced. My old large framed bike looks rather small against it.
Early morning swim. Whilst taking a few pictures here, I met a former Student that was working for the nearby Caley Marina. It was his last day with them, as he's of to Hampshire to work for a control & instrumentation company. He, a Dutchman, finished the engineering degree course this year, and has been in the area for four years. Great to hear of our Students progressing after their time with us. He was a very good Student. Good luck to him. And as with many of them, he will no doubt be on a starting salary higher than my long-time-served one!
