Final Piece
It's the last helping of panettone. It was my lasting Christmas treat, served with a generous helping of mascarpone and a spoonful of lemon sorbet.
So delightful I can't think why it is preserved for Christmas.
On the other hand to indulge in dessert or snack like this every day of the year would wreak havoc with the calorie count, yet alone the waistline.
Maybe it's best to keep it to a festive indulgence after all. Especially now that I've heard tell of a recipe to make bread and butter pudding using panettone!
