Brian Garland is one of Oslo's greatest expatriate characters - he is from Cheltenham, and he remembers a young upstart kid from his neighbourhood called Brian Jones, who went on to have some success with a group called the Rolling Stones before he wound up dead. Brian G has lived in Oslo for more than 40 years, and his tales of the Klanen (Vålerenga ultras) on tour in Norway and beyond are remarkable. Whenever you think you've heard all Brian's stories, he comes out with another that astounds and amazes. At the risk of sounding patronising, everyone needs to listen to older people more - the world will be a better place.
