I have been confused as to why there can sometimes be a real mismatch between what I am seeing with my eyes, and what is captured by my photo.  So, today I put on the HDR and there was far more authenticity in the replication. 
I am only using my iPad camera, having left my 'proper' one back in the UK.
I'm going to keep trying HDR and see how it improves the shot.
At the time of the shot, it is 15deg, 82% humidity, light breeze and no chance of rain. The cloud is set to disappear and the temperature rise to a high of 16deg.
Subsequently, I can begin to give the apartment a good airing and hopefully this will help with the issue of damp.
The apartment is NOT 15deg but much cooler :)
