Carpet Shark

Went out on my Uncle's boat all day today with my daughter and her Partner. After a cruise up to Ship's Cove, we went scalloping.  This carpet shark was dredged up with the scallops.

We learnt it was nocturnal and during the day time it is sluggish.  It definitely was sluggish - and it must have been asleep at the bottom when we dredged it up with the rest of our lunch!

We let it go, threw back all the sea slugs, kina, crabs, and starfish, then shucked our scallops.  John cooked them up for our lunch, along with the Kingfish we caught as well on the way up.

There wre enough scallops for us to take home, so we cooked up a prawn and scallop stirfry for dinner.  Nothing can beat fresh seafood :)
