Kimberley Art/Leeuwin Estate Collection
This painting by Boxer Milner was reproduced on the label for Leeuwin Estate's Art Series Shiraz 2003.
I saw the real one in the Leeuwin Estate Winery's art gallery - a cool basement that was used for storing wine and their famous art collection.
Boxer Milner is an aboriginal elder from the Kimberley in the far north of Western Australia where a group of indigenous artists create some wonderful and colourful works reflecting the Kimberley landscape, some of which are in State gallery collections.
I am not entirely sure what this painting is about but to me the colours of orange and pink and blue probably mean a sunset over water. What do you think it could mean?
Try large, it looks fantastic!
