Today's meeting was with Matt, newly appointed Children's & Young People's Minister at Christ Church Colchester, a vibrant, growing community. They describe themselves as a welcoming, worshipping, mission-shaped, praying, serving, learning, growing family-orientated church .... which sounds good to me.

Work with children, youth, families, schools and new ways of doing church all add up to a full, exciting and demanding diary for Matt. We discussed forthcoming training for their volunteers who engage with children, youth & families through wonderfully titled projects; Who Let the Dads Out? Frog Club & Flame. We are now designing a training course based on a home-group format, relaxed, varied input, reflective journals, it'll be fun to see how it works out.

I love the varied collection of tools for the trade around the room, tea, biscuits, kettle, stapler, string, christingle, calendar, numerous scissors, files, paper clips, computer, printer, tin, trays ...... and on it goes. I'm looking forward to this one.
