Recycling

The weekend's storms have claimed another tall tree at the entrance to Glen Massan. You can see the huge length of it in this photo, but what you can't see is the relatively tiny spread of the roots, and the fact that when it fell the roots took with it a good length of the roadside fence. I used this view, however, to show not only the size of the fallen giant, but also the fate of last year's gale victim, which is now rapidly disappearing in the form of logs, neatly cut into useable chunks.

Incidentally, this was taken about 4pm. It wasn't dark. In fact, it was still quite light at 4.30pm. Things is looking up ...
