Good Golly, It's a Molly!
Its Plough Monday today and my school always celebrates this auspicious occasion by inviting the local Gog Magog Molly Dancers in to perform and teach the children a couple of dances. For those who aren't in the know, Molly dancing is a form of English Morris dance, traditionally done by out of work ploughboys in midwinter in the 19th Century.
They're a bit louder and more colourful than traditional Morris dancers and their gaudy costumes and face paint caused a bit of uncertainty and a few tears. But after a pep talk and a cup of tea I felt much better.
Is it nearly Friday??
