Monday: Stairs In The Wood

As the car is still in the garage, I had the rare pleasure of walking down to the bus stop this morning.  I have long been intrigued by these stairs en route - they lead precisely nowhere.

So, on Saturday, I mentioned that, rather strangely, we had seen the President having coffee in town while on walkabout prior to yesterday's elections.  It seems that his walkabout may not have been quite enough - in a result that has surprised everybody, he lost.  Croatia now has a female President - she will take office in February.  No-one saw this coming - he was a dead cert to win, particularly as, until relatively recently, he was polling as Croatia's most popular politician.  Well, there you go.......
