New Bells

Today was my first session at the Moving On Course, designed to help folk who have been through Cancer treatment or who are living with cancer to manage all the anxieties and other issues that arise from the diagnosis and treatment.  I met 5 other ladies and today's session was really about introducing ourselves and our expectations of the course. The course was 2 hours long but seemed much less and we have 5 more sessions.  A couple of the other ladies have a similar story to mine whilst the other 3 are much different.  I find it quite hard to talk to a group of people and felt quite exhausted after talking them through my 'journey' (not sure I like that word but it seems to be the word everyone uses)  I think it will be useful but I also think it's going to be quite tough at times.

I prepared and delivered all the Parish Council meeting packs and walked the dog.

Matthew was asked to go and inspect a newly augmented ring of bells in Chearsley to check that the work was satisfactory and the ODG could release the grant money to them so we went and rang with them for their practice night and then Matt inspected the bells.

They have added 3 new bells to their existing ring of 3 and now have a very nice ring of 6.  The whole village seem to have rallied round to raise funds and they have a thriving band of ringers including some youngsters which is great.

There is something quite special about being in the belfry with these wonderful instruments, 3 of these bells have been here for several hundred years and the new ones will be there with them for many more, history in the making.
