Day 3: Myna bird in Joo Chiat

A very noisy character.  And I have since learned that the Javan Myna is the most common bird in Singapore.

Wonderful home cooked Burmese food today - for lunch lahpet thoke - Burmese Tea Leaf Salad using fermented leaves of fresh picked tea with tomatoes, garlic, green chilli, shredded cabbage, a mixture of nuts and beans with a fish sauce, sesame oil and lime dressing.    For dinner, a delicious cold noodle salad mixed with chick peas that had been dry fried and ground to powder in a mortar and pestle, with a garlic and tamarind dressing. 

I think my blipfoto journal is also going to become a food diary while I am in Asia.  I need to remember it all.
