Eagle Pond: Canada Goose
See its sculptural splash in large.
I went to visit the Goosles this morning to say goodbye before moving back to Oxford for term... There were lots of Canada geese at the pond, and although Mr. was paddling about, Mrs. was nowhere to be seen! Mr. came over to say hello, and wasn't fussing at all (!); he'd go back to the island and swim around it before returning to the shore to eat, and to chase the other birds... Mrs., presumably, was hiding in the tree on the island; perhaps she's making a nest!
Anyway, we stopped off at the pond en route to Oxford and she was back with Mr. (and he had resumed his usual fussing: "stop looking at Mrs.!").
I've posted this washing Canada goose because it was my favourite photo of the day (I think), but I've posted a whole load to Flickr because the Goosles were on excellent form, and the light and colours were rather splendid (if rather challengingly contrasty...).
Others are right from here.
