Mosaic pillars
The Palau of Catalan Music was our first sightseeing stop today: this art nouveau jewel was designed by a peer of Gaudi Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It was spectacular, and I loved the beautifully intricate mosaic work inside and out, and the incredible stained glass roof.
I loved the columns on the balcony: we had peered up at them from the street, having seen them in "must see " lists so it was a delight to be able to walk through them, like a mosaic field.
