Cat in a Bar

How come I didn't notice how much reflection on the table there was when I took the photo?  We were in Carcassonne on a beautiful January day when a lot of the shops were closed and not many tourists were about.  One of the best times of the year to be there.  And so thought this cat who was sleeping on one of the tables outside a bar.  

Strangely, we saw more cats in the town on this visit than I've seen on all the other visits put together.  Could they have been introduced to deal with mice?  Or perhaps it is just that there seem to be less dogs wandering the streets in France today.
