"no ifs, no buts – no education cuts"

I joined thousands of other students marching against the proposed huge rise in tuition fees. They didn't listen to us or the NUS who said that all it would achieve is less people from lower incomes applying and the Government losing money as all universities would start charging the maximum fee. 5 years on and that is exactly what happened. 

It was exhilarating being involved but the day will also be slightly sad for me as we sat in the SU building of King's College London and watched the violence and vandalism unfold. Later it turned out that most of the people involved in it were not students but that's all the media reported on really. Today if you do a google search most of the results show smashed up windows and police vehicles.
