Brit Floyd.
I hadn't really recovered from not being able to head for Birmingham a few months ago to see The Wall with Roger Waters. This iconic album really needs no introduction and I am sure most Blippers wont need no education with that one. Pink Floyd featured very heavily in my music collection in my teens and twenties and I was a fan. I was gutted; a friend had got hold of a couple of tickets in the moddle about 5 rows from the front, but unfortunately I couldn't get out of a work commitment ( until that was on the day by which time it was too late) . I am not bitter I am still bitter about this and I have moved on.
Last week the same friend got hold of a ticket to see Brit Floyd a tribute band. Now I have mixed opinions about some tribute bands, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect when tonight we turned up at the Music Hall in Aberdeen.
So what were we subjected to?
I can only describe this evenings music as one of the most incredible concerts I have ever been to; and I have been to many. If any members of the audience had shut their eyes they could easily have been forgiven for thinking that Floyd had reformed and were back at their best.
It was an absolute joy to hear 1o musicians including background vocalists play and sing with absolute precision and feeling. Moreover the sound was exactly as I remember Floyd.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT !
