Science lesson
Well, vacation is over and I’m back at work. Today’s blip is an image of my hand on a plasma ball. It's a 30 inch ( about 76cm) glass ball filled with argon and neon gases. The center electrode is at a high oscillating voltage. The electrode throws off electrons which travel and interact with the positive ions of the gas, which creates “plasma.” I won’t go into any more science. It’s on the internet…
I work in energy efficiency and we use the ball as part of an educational program with customers and students. It’s always fun and a little cool to play with.
