Then it was gone!
We had a fall of snow overnight, so driving out of the village and to the main road this morning was a little tricky. We were trying to get to Newcastle for 10.30, (which we would have done if it hadn’t been for the endless roadworks around the city!), so no way could I stop to take photographs, even though the sun was shining over a beautiful white landscape.
By the time we were making the return journey, most of the snow was gone, so here is a not very inspired picture of some remaining snow, just as the sun was going down behind the clouds.
I was at a lecture focused on Irish short stories. The book we were asked to read them from is a real find. I would recommend it if you are interested in short stories, a selection made and introduced by Anne Enright author of 'The Gathering' – 'The Granta Book of the Irish Short Story'.
