Obstacle

Its been a challenging day weather-wise. We awoke to 2+ inches of snow and thought it was the perfect day to test the winter tyres. Forecast said warmer and heavy rain later, so no time to delay. Well, we delayed long enough to have a mini snowball fight. (I won).

Result of tyre test? Hmmm... It seems the steepness of the driveway means that the 2WD car with winter tyres can only get out when reversed. Going forwards there isnt enough weight on the front wheels so we skidded all over the place. The good news was the 4wd with regular tyres got out fine. Actually better than yesterday when there was less snow.

Less than a mile down the road and no sign of snow at all. The weather brightened up during the day allowing a walk in the park enlivened by the impromptu obstacle course. No stopping R!

It rained all afternoon and the wind picked up as we headed home. Less than a mile from the house everything was whiter than ever and there was a small selection of cars stuck in the snow. All our tracks in the driveway from this morning's adventure were almost obscured.

Sometimes I think we live in an alternate reality... But I love it!
