Ant fly

What is it called when you see a little anty thing, but it's got wings, and when you look at it on the screen, it's obviously a fly?

Why, an Ant Fly of course!

Not a flying ant, and not a flying termite.  Just an Ant Fly.

There's virtually no information about them on the net; I have discovered there are two species, and this one is Parapalaeosepsis compressa Family Sepsidae I believe.

They have a body length of about 4mm - like I said, tiny.

The only info I can find is from the website Brisbane Insects: this is what they say.

Flies in this family are small and ant-like. Their wings are clear and have a small dark spot on wing near apex. They have the habit of continuously waving the wings when at rest.
