Centropus burchellii (Burchell's coucal)

We so very often hear them calling, but I usually get quite useless pics of them, but when Charmaine heard them them again today, we sneaked out and I got 2, yes TWO shots, they are very good at disappearing! But thank goodness, both shots were quite pretty! Ronnie sr chose this one because his head is turned soooo elegantly!


Read a bit about them on the Biodiversity Explorer site, they are quite interresting birds, foundly mainly in South Africa and feeding on small birds, mammals, reptiles and insects.

Oooohhhh, our Ronnie and Anrie as well as Anrie's brother Hendrik, are on their way back from their almost 6 week long vacation in Malaysia with Anrie's parents! I feel so sorry for Ansa and Jurie, they are going to miss them like crazy!
