The Nutcracker

When he got home from school, George made straight for the basket with the last of the Christmas nuts. 

"What's your favourite nut?" he asked me, not for the first time. 

And so, not for the first time, I replied that it was walnuts. 

"And what's your second favourite nut?"

Brazils, I told him.

"Right...so what's your favourite nut out of what we've got left? Hazelnuts or almonds?" 

I chose the hazelnuts. 

So naturally, he gave me a pecan.
